Enhanced Video Access (EVA)
What it is
EVA provides an easy option to request HD video segments remotely. While events capture the majority of driving incidents, additional context around those events is sometimes necessary, or business-impacting situations arise that aren’t caught with driving behaviour. The Enhanced Video Access (EVA) tool allows users to visually select and download a clip around a segment of interest. Videos of up to a minute can be retrieved.
How it works
Raven’s LTE connection enables communication with the cloud. The continuously recorded footage available on the SD card can be requested via the web app and pushed to the cloud as the user requests the content. EVA provides a trip timeline and preview images to help the user select a point of interest.
How to use it
Request Video can be found in the 'Trips History' tab under 'Productivity' for any footage that remains available on the Raven device.
To request a video:
- Navigate to the trip of interest, then select the point in the Trip that you would like to request video from by hovering your cursor over the vehicle route on the map. A timestamp of the Trip will appear. Once you find the part of the trip you want to review, click the route, then request video to open the request videos panel.
- Click and drag the slider along the timeline, and preview images will appear above it. The colour-coded dots on the timeline identify related events.
- Once you’ve identified the segment of interest, select the desired duration, click the request video button, then choose from which camera you would like the video to be retrieved.
- When the request is complete, the HD Video will be available in the 'Ready Videos' panel and will also be in the 'Exceptions' list labeled 'User Video Request' at the time the recording took place. The video can be reviewed from the web app or downloaded for sharing.
Note: Raven devices record continuously while the vehicle’s engine is running. When parked, they record only if physical movement is detected. On the timeline slider, a blue background indicates video is available, while a white background indicates no video is available.
