Raven monitors the cabin, looking continuously for anything that has covered the camera while the vehicle is being driven. When detected, a small toast widget appears on the right side of Raven's screen and beeps, alerting the driver. Simultaneously, alerts are delivered to the Raven Apps, notifying management that the camera view has been obstructed. As with all other events, Camera Obscured will appear in the Events stack from the dashboard and Trip Review tabs and be searchable in Event Review.

February 21, 2024
The Activity Report, provides users with a summarized view of the different activities their vehicles have undertaken within a selected period.
Users can now review driving, idling, parked for less than one hour, and parked long-duration segments in one consolidated report view. The report details the activity's start and end times, duration, distance, location, Geofence interactions, and link to the associated Trip Review for further investigation. The top line of the report also provides a duration and distance summary for the period under review. As with all reports, the activity report can be exported as a CSV for further manipulation.
How to Use it:

Integrations
February 21, 2024

Integrations with partnering organizations can be enabled from the Web App.
How to use it
To enable an integration on your account:
- From the Web App, select the settings tab from the menu.
- Scroll to the ‘Integrations’ section.

- Log into your TELUS | Raven Web App and select ‘Settings’. Scroll down to ‘Integrations’.
-
Select “Add Credentials” and Paste your Account Token and API Keys in their respective locations and select “Save”.
- Configured vehicles with matching VINs, Names, or Raven Serial Number in both your Fleetio and Raven Accounts will begin populating GPS Location, DTC, and Odometer values from collected Raven data into your Fleetio dashboard daily.
Collapsable Settings
April 10, 2023
As we continue to expand the Raven Connected feature set, opportunities arise to improve user experience. With our recent addition of configurable settings, we found that the settings page needed to be shorter. To simplify the user experience, we are introducing collapsable settings. You will now notice that the settings page will be collapsed by default.
How to use it
From the Web App, select the Settings tab from the menu. By default, all settings are collapsed.
You can selectively expand the settings section you want to adjust by clicking on the header. Additionally, if you prefer to see all settings simultaneously, select the 'Expand All' button in the top right corner.
If you no longer want settings to be expanded, you can select 'Collapse All' or individually collapse sections by clicking again on the header.
Harsh Cornering Events and Configurable Event Settings
April 10, 2023
Raven has always alerted users to poor driving behaviours, including Speeding, Harsh Braking, Rapid Acceleration, and Potential Impact. We are happy to now include Harsh Cornering as an Event of which users can be notified. When Raven detects that a vehicle has taken a corner too aggressively, Raven will trigger an event, marking it on the trip timeline with associated preview images and the option to retrieve the Event video remotely. To receive Harsh Cornering Events, users must enable them from the Web App; by default, Harsh Cornering Events are disabled.
We recently announced configurable Car Bumped Settings and are now expanding these settings to more event types. Customers can now customize the appropriate sensitivity to their vehicle size and satisfaction. From the Web App, users can now Enable or Disable and set thresholds for Aggressive Acceleration, Harsh Braking, Harsh Cornering, and Possible Impact events. You do not need to adjust the setting if you're content with the existing notification triggers.
How to use it
From the Web App, select the Settings tab from the menu. Scroll down to the 'Events' section and click to expand. A complete list of configurable settings, including Harsh Cornering, will be displayed.
Similarly to the Car Bumped Events release, toggle to turn on or off an Event, then click and drag the slider to adjust your ideal sensitivity level. The further to the left the slider is located, the less sensitive Raven will react to the selected Event. Alternately the further to the right, the more susceptible to Events Raven will be.
If you're unsure of your desired sensitivity level, there are vehicle-type indicators along the slider to help indicate the typical type of vehicle that is suitable for the level of sensitivity. You can also enter a value to set the sensitivity level. Select 'Apply' to change the sensitivity level or 'Discard Changes' to keep the settings as they were.
Note that all settings adjusted via the Web App will apply to all vehicles and will override any individual settings configured in the Mobile App.
Event Review
March 9, 2023
Event Review provides the necessary context for driver coaching initiatives. Users can select any event type and review by Driver or Vehicle over a specified timeframe with cabin and road-facing imagery. Event Review places the power in the hands of the fleet manager to determine which events displayed poor driving behavior and which should be shared for coachable moments.
How to Use it:
- From the Web App, select ‘Event Review’ under ‘History’ in the menu.
- Filter by desired Event Type(s) and Vehicle of interest. Filter for a selected period, then select ‘apply.’
- A list of selected events and associated event details will be displayed, including road- and cabin-images or videos for critical events.
- Users can also download available videos, view a summary of the event, view the complete trip in Trip Review, or export this data in a CSV.
Car Bumped Settings
March 9, 2023
Until now, Raven triggered 'Car Movement While Parked' notifications based on a set value regardless of the vehicle's size. As you can imagine, bumping into a compact has a different impact than a heavy-duty truck. While we want to ensure that customers aren't receiving redundant notifications, we also want to ensure they receive all relevant notifications. For this reason, we have opened up Car Bumped settings to customers to customize the appropriate sensitivity to your vehicle size and satisfaction. You do not need to adjust the setting if you're content with the existing notification triggers.
How to Use it:
- From the Web App, select the Settings tab from the menu, and scroll down to 'Car Bumped' within the 'Events' section.
- Click and drag the slider to adjust your ideal sensitivity level. The further to the left the slider is located, the less sensitive Raven will react to vehicle movement. Alternately the further to the right, the more susceptible to movements Raven will be.
- If you're unsure of your desired sensitivity level, there are vehicle-type indicators along the slider to help indicate the typical type of vehicle that is suitable for the level of sensitivity. You can also enter a value between 0.1-0.01 g's to set the sensitivity level. Select 'Apply' to change the sensitivity level or 'Discard Changes' to keep the settings as they were.
Enhanced Video Access (EVA)
December 2, 2022
EVA provides an additional way to request any video in high definition available on the Raven device. The EVA tool allows users to visually select and download a clip around a segment of interest. Videos of up to a minute can be retrieved.
EVA can be accessed via the History Tab for any footage available on the Raven device.
To request a video from the EVA feature, open the Vehicle Details panel and select "Request Video". Click and drag the blue slider along the timeline. Once you've identified the segment of interest, select the desired duration, click 'Request Download,' and choose from which camera you would like the video to be retrieved. Once the request is complete, the HD Video will be available from the Events stack labeled 'User Video Request' at the time the recording took place.
The Stop Report
December 2, 2022
The Stop Report includes a detailed view of all parking and idling events over a specified timeframe. This report can be used in your workflows to validate timesheets and customer billing or investigate the misuse of company assets and time.
To review The Stop Report, select it from the list of Reports.
Select the timeframe and whether you would like to review parking, idling or both event types. You can then expand the details for analysis of each vehicle.
For short parking durations (shorter than 1 hour), you'll notice the icon. These parked events will not display as individual trips in the Trip Report but will appear as parking time in the row for the previous driving trip. For additional trip context or to download associated footage, select the 'Details' link, navigating to the associated trip's history.
